Recorded in Kuala Lumpur during a 2018 tour of Malaysia and China, the trio presents standards and originals, tipped slightly in favor of Monteiro's own compositions. It marks a return to the pianist's familiar stomping ground after of series of homage albums to Michel Legrand (To Paris With Love: A Tribute to the Genius of Michel Legrand (2015), The Carpenters (Yesterday Once More (2018), Antonio Carlos Jobim ( Brazilian Dreams, 2016) and to Stevie Wonder (Overjoyed (2019)—all on Monteiro's Jazznote label.

Love Letter is the legendary saxophonist Jimmy Heath's stunningly elegant last testament, a collection of ballads that span covers like "Con Alma and Heath originals.  Includes songs written by Billie Holiday, Dizzy Gillespie and Kenny Dorham in addition to original material. Partially recorded in New York in the days preceding his 93rd birthday, Jimmy presided over a brilliant cast of colleagues and friends. The result is pure Heath: polished, inventive, candid, beautiful. Guest artists include contributions by trumpeter Wynton Marsalis, pianist Kenny Barron, guitarist Russell Malone, drummer Lewis Nash, as well as vocalists Gregory Porter and Cécile McLorin Salvant. (Released July 2020)
